Water Crisis and Sufferings of the People

Water Crisis and Sufferings of the People

It's a universal truth that “Water is an invaluable blessing”. Water is a vital part of our life and it’s a bitter truth that this vitality is scarcely available even for human beings nowadays. Regretfully, the rulers whom we imposed on ourselves by trusting them have made us tantalize for water drops.
Water is undoubtedly very important and vital for our lives. It is necessary not only for drinking but also for our day to day life. Water has diverse uses in various walks of life: it is used in cooking, agriculture, industries, for power, balancing the ecosystem, navigation, fishing, wildlife and recreation.  We can’t imagine our existence without water. As you know, availability of water is a big issue for us these days. We’re deprived of water supply for tens of days and if it is available after several days, it is full of impurities that puts public in worrisome situation as it is very detrimental to health.
According to Pakistan Medical Health Association, 99% of diseases are caused because of drinking impure water thus resulting in 1.1 million death toll per year.
The Almighty Allah has blessed Pakistan with five rivers and an ocean, yet Pakistan is in the list of those countries who may have to face ‘water crisis’ in near future.
Yes, we can deliver speeches, write essay and articles highlighting the importance of water. We need to highlight how our Mother Earth is dependent on water for its existence through various platforms. The only resources of fresh water are glaciers, rivers, lakes, under rocks and excavated dams. We must adore and save it for our future generation as well because water has become a scarce resource and we may run out of this precious resource over time or because of overuse. It’s now our utmost responsibility to save water.
Water crisis is undoubtedly the result of: firstly our Government' noxious policy and secondly the malicious intents of our eternal enemy India who always crave for the destruction of Pakistan.
Keeping in view the current scenarios, analysts are compelled to say, "The third World War will be for water". Studies have revealed that if we are not cautious about water usage, Pakistan may run dry by 2025. It is indeed a very alarming situation for us and our generations to come alike.
Pakistan is in dire need of dams. There is still time. As they say, “it’s never too late”.
Although the "Kala Bagh Dam" is out of budget of our government as the estimated cost for construction of Kala Bagh Dam is 126 billion, but there are plenty of benefits that we may get from dams i.e., elimination of electricity crisis.
Pakistan's industrial production would increase which, in turn, paves the roads of development for Pakistan. Irrigation system will no longer suffer from lack of water. All provinces will enjoy the availability of plentiful water. And the biggest advantage will be provision of clean drinking water. There’re a number of other benefits as well.
According to an estimate, the annual income coming of this project alone would be more than 33 billion. But conflicting elements have entered an impasse.
If well-organized processes and works to save water are put to practice, we can avert the terrible crisis on water. There is still time not to take water for granted and realize the value of this irreplaceable blessing.
The Government of Pakistan should form a better management team consisting of competent and elite in their expertise members who formulate policies and procedures to ensure not only the availability of fresh drinking water but also its preservation.
Remember, water is life for all of us and we ought to save it in every possible way. If there is no water, then there’s no health, no green, no blue and above all, no life.... Just graves & deaths!
